Buckle Won Bennington, Kansas

2009 First Place Bareback at Bennington, KS. DV Fennell
3 in a row
Wow what fun! Everybody says that you can’t win em all, but it’s a lot of fun when it happens. I’d been to to roughly 30
rodeos this season and hadn’t won first. I had done well, but not a first place until the last week-end in May.
So it was nice to get some wins! LOL.
AND they came in a group:
First I went to Licking , MO and got on a colt that failed to buck. Therefore I got a re-ride that was really good.
This one stayed close to the bucking chutes and kicked every jump .
I scored an 82 on him.
Then the winning streak held up all weekend.
The next day I was entered at Cherokee, IA. I got a phone call from my traveling partner, informing me that you can’t win if you don’t go haha.
He knew that I had another colt and it was an 8 hour drive. So I pinned my ears
back (got a stubborn determined ornery mindset) and headed that way.
2A1 horse was really good. 81 points (first place win # 2).
BUT the one I had been looking forward to was on Saturday night in Ft. Smith, AR;
” Billy The Kid” of Harry Vold rodeo co. He almost bucked me off (I said almost LOL) but I
weathered the storm and scored 86 points, for a split first and second.
All in all what looked like a chance to win one rodeo on paper turned into 3. I’m definetly not mad about it.
Gotta go , more to come from the busy season (4th of July run) starting June 30th and going thru July 5th.
Keep praying and be blessed
D V HERE!
drawing good and riding good
A guy can spin his wheels all year and have nothing to show for it come tax time, but thank the lord this winter has been good. I have been successfully placing and winning good checks at clovis. ca , Guymon, Ok , and Redding, caadding to my winter haul. I know that i have been blessed with great stock thanks to the prayers of family and freinds. After two surgeries last year it is good to come back strong with a chance at a world title. See you soon
